Arrival in France!

Hi folks! Sorry it has taken us so long to get this started. This is our first blog! Not to mention our first Travel blog!

Anyway, after many hours of flying we finally arrived in Toulouse, one week and two days ago! Everything went smoothly on our flights from Austin to JFK and then onto Heathrow Airport in England. However, we just barely made our last flight. We did not have a lot of time to get to our gate, and, of course, it was not in the same terminal we came in...what else is new?

The staff at the airport were great though! They were waiting for us when we departed our flight in the Heathrow Airport and were holding a sign and calling our names. (Fortunately, my hearing is a little better than Scott's or we might not have heard them!) They gave each of us a bright orange card that said Priority Express! (or something to that affect) and told us to hold it up in front of us and directed us which way to head.

Along the way there were more airport staff that directed us. Eventually we got on a bus that would take us to a different terminal where our gate was and we had our first experience with riding on the opposite side of the road! Once we got to our terminal, of course, I needed to make a quick bathroom stop...anyway, as soon as I came out we heard our names being called out. It was last call for our flight! We rushed to our gate, which was not a simple thing, winding around different areas and trying to figure out which way to go but somehow we made it just in the nick of time. We then boarded, yet, another bus, which took us out on the tarmac to our plane. Phew!

Our final flight was short and sweet! After we deplaned, we went to the baggage pickup area and got two of our three suitcases. Yes, one of our bags did not arrive! We kept waiting, hoping that it would show up, but no...

Anyway, to make a long story short, Scott, after making inquiries at the lost baggage and filing a report and many phone calls later was able to have our suitcase located and delivered to us the next day! Yippee! All is well and we have arrived in Toulouse!

We then took a taxi to our new temporary residence without incident. We were at the wrong doorway at first with our luggage, but were met by the woman that had made arrangements for us and she got us situated. Our street number was 7 bis and we were at 7 just a few doorways away. She even bought coffee and made a pot for us with some biscuits while we got settled. Such hospitality! She then gave us some basic information and helpful tips about the flat and Toulouse. After she left we went to sleep for a few days...just kidding! But we did sleep on and off for several days until we got better oriented to our new time zone.
